annualcreditreport.com is actually free, but only the credit report. You don't get a credit score free. Those cost $6 to $8 each, and are worth the money. Don't buy any other services from them. The "debt analysis" is something you can do yourself buy adding up all your monthly payments and dividing them by your gross monthly income.
There are several credit reporting companies that indicate you may get your credit report with your credit scores free. This might be true, however you must provide them a credit card in order to obtain the credit card.

The ad further states that if you are not pleased you may cancel within the next 7-30 days depending on what service you decide to use. This is a way of collecting information to sell to name buyers,so by you canceling, they will still make money off your name by selling it to a name broker.

You may use the web site annualcreditreport.com. Using this website to obtain your credit report from the three major credit bureaus will not provide you with your credit scores. They will simply provide you with what is on your current credit report and has been reported to them. There is not charge for their services.

To be *really* safe, start at the Federal Trade Commission web site: http://ftc.gov/freereports and follow the link.

You will need a SSN, though. Safe enough through the legitimate web site.

Experian, Transunion, and Equifax will all give you a free credit report once a year. Each respective bureau will only give you their portion. Advisors say unless there is a reason that you are monitoring your credit, then you should space out your requests so that you can get another report every four months. They all three request a credit card number, that they use to verify your identity. They might charge it a dollar or something for a couple of days. They all three offer services where you can monitor constantly, this usually cost $15 a month. They will charge you around $25 to show you all three reports at one time. Most of them you can sign up online, but you have to call them to cancel.

NONE of the above. The ONLY no strings attached FREE credit report is though https://www.annualcreditreport.com. If you go directly to ANY other site, you will either be charged upfront, or be enrolled in a credit monitoring service for which you will be charged.
You can get all through reports at once. Go to annualcreditreport.com. You are allowed this for free once a year. Some give you the option to save and view the report free for up to 30 days. Be sure to print a copy just in case. You can also dispute info right online as well. It safe and secure.

Yes, you can get free copy of your credit report from transunion, Experian, and
Equifax directly from them. Once a year the three credit bureaus must give you a copy of your credit report.

This is the official free copy of your credit report. Must of the other companies offer a free copy and then want to charge you a monthly fee there after. In addition, some the information is not accurate as opposed to the official website.
