I want to study Employment Law via distant learning. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to which certification is best. I don't have any law certifications. Starting from scratch.
It depends what you want to do with it in the end. Employment Law isn't normally studied until MA level for those wishing to take the degree route.
Are you looking to work as a soliciter? HR Advisor?
If you want to practice employment law the traditional route of applying to university to undertake a law course, open univsersity do one via distance learning and i'm sure there are others then take an MA as an employment law specialist. If you are not ready academically for this you can do an A-Level in Law or a BTEC which should give you the enterance requirments.
If you are looking to go into HR side of things as a job then you will need to start with the CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice which you can do distance from the CIPD website then onto the CIPD Diploma, then MA in HRM.
Hope this helps, if you let me know your aims of doing the course I will think about what is most appropriate..
Depends what you want to do with the qualification when you have it.
If you are a member of a union the TUC hold an employment law course that can be studied by distance learning or by day release at college and gives a very good insight into the basics. Its free if your member.
Look at their web site for more info.
We are a very low-income family struggling to get by and we REALLY need to sell this house soon because we have too high payments for our budget right now. We are trying to work with a company in California to get our house sold and so far we have been unsuccessful. Anyone who can help is greatly appreciated at this time. We also have too high Utility Bills for our Budget. Please, anyone who can help please respond! We normally get SSI, but for the month of December we will not be getting any because according to them, my husband's income is too high. We are barely making it. Please help!
There are some places here that will buy anyone's home, regardless of condition - for those in absolute need. HOWEVER - you would be getting a much lower price than appraisal - and if you owe, the dont consider it.
Here in Oklahoma its called "We Buy Ugly Homes" - not you imply yours is ugly - but it may be an out. There are probably similar programs where-ever you live.
If your house is priced way below the comparables on the market, a buyer will come. Make sure it looks great, shows great, and all major repairs are done.
Are you working with an experienced Realtor in your area? Is the company in CA a real estate brokerage or what?
If you haven't done so, call three local Real Estate agencies and ask to have one of their successful Realtors come to give you a CMA (comparative market analysis).
Interview all three agents, decide which one to hire, then LOWER YOUR PRICE TO THE ROCK BOTTOM END OF THE VALUE RANGE!
Try this site where you can compare quotes from different companies in your area

Hope this help,
Well, not online. Those online websites harvest your personal information, to sell as leads to other agents.
You're best off contacting a local, independent agent, who with one fell swoop and a handful of questions, can get you quotes for a whole bunch of different companies at once. AND, they won't sell your personal information.
Well, first of all, I know I'm young (14) but I want to be at least a little bit prepared for my future since I'll be applying for colleges in about 4 years. I've always been one of those people who have an interest for a few weeks then get bored with it. Except for singing, I've always loved being in choir and just singing in general, and from what my peers and teachers tell me I have a talent for it (though I don't know that I'm attractive enough for fame.) Thing is, I want to make a decision for once, and stick to it.
So, I know it's a major long shot but singing is always an option. Then I love photography. Pictures of nature and pictures of models in elegant settings. (Another thing I've actually stuck with.) Then there are countless other options. Something with computer programming, like making games and such. I've always liked playing video games. Then there is film. One of my brothers that are in college is majoring in film now and I've always loved filming and movies and even a bit of acting. Also, my sister believes I would be a good fiction novelist. I have written a few unfinished drafts of different book ideas. (Problem is my inability to stick with things.)
Finally, something some people may think is silly but I've always had a great respect for those in the military. My grandfather was in the air force and I've always thought it would be an honor to be in the military, despite the danger. It takes bravery, honor, and respect, and the training involved in it would make me more disciplined, therefore, possibly more able to stick with things. So that would be an option, I suppose.
Any other suggestions? And maybe someone could tell me how to be more able to stick with things? Also, could someone tell me some ways to make a real decision on what to do with my life?
Thank you.
Well, there are a few jobs for your interests. For example, since you enjoy singing, you could always try to make it as a singer. You could start as a singer in bars or clubs (when you are older, of course). Then, you could see where your career goes from there. Now photography also gives you some options. Of course, a photographer. But within that, you could be different types. You could take portraits, of humans and animals. If your good enough, you could become a photoshoot photographer. Then you could go to a college that focuses on computers and technology. You could work as a game creator with a company like EA games, or something along those lines. If you become more intrested in being a film director, creator, producer, etc., it is very helpful that your brother is majoring in film, because he could help you. You could direct movies, or tv shows. Being the military isn't silly! The military is a very respectable job, but, you're right, it can be dangerous. But if you feel that you want to be part of the military, you should go for it, despite the risk factor. Also, you should try to finish your stories, and see where they lead you. You should try to pick something that your passionite abbout, then make a schedule of how often you are going to work on it. Well, I really hoped this helped you, and good luck! I hope you find something that you care about and want to do for the rest of your life!
Don't see a career councilor. They only spend 8 years learning psychology as it relates to careers so I'm sure they can't help you.
Mom passed away in july of 2007. I remember that as a little girl she had a policy with aetna insurance company. My aunt asked me about that policy lately. how can I go about finding out if in fact that policy is still valid? who would i contact? I can even recall the first name of the agent that used to come to our house. Unfortunately, not the agent's last name. any advice would be appreciated……
So have the executor call Aetna. Have mom's legal name, date of birth and SSA handy.
They can tell you if they have information that's current.
PS, some policies from the 1960s are actually full paid and stopped having premiums. I found one for a relative by going through every sheet of paper in the house. It was modest, but we didn't argue about found money of $5000.
Well, you'd contact Aetna, but the fact is, if she wasn't PAYING for insurance, it probably lapsed a long, LONG time ago.
Call Aetna, give them her name, let them know she passed away, and ask them to send you a claim form.
Alternatively, if you're the executor/administrator of her estate, you can get copies of her cancelled checks for the last year or two of her life, to see who she had been paying - if anyone - for life insurance.
One place to start would be your mom's checkbook. See if she was paying regular premiums to Aetna or any other life insurance company.
There is housing and property there, but not many people? Though they do seem to have a school there…..does anyone live there or by there, that can give me an idea? I greatly appreciate it:)
Google the area for real estate agents and look at their listings. That will give some idea.
Such as silver dollars and half dollars (old) quarters all old.
You can try this link.
well their are price guides and their is ebay but some coins are worth more than others and if the coin itself has scratch marks or things they can decrease the value. what can increase the value is if it is has an error or if was made in a certain state and is harder to find etc…
For accurate information on their worth, they'll need to be seen in person by a reputable coin dealer.
For a general idea of what they might be worth, look for similar coins on eBay.
You could check out auction sites such as ebay to get an idea what they are selling for, but you may also want to consult a coin expert or a pricing catalog as well to get an acurate idea. .
Ebay.
It will show you what other coins just like yours are selling for.

There was something on TV about a week and a half ago that if you purchased a "golf cart" type of battery vehicle that could run at 35 mph you would be entitle to a rebate. Where can I find more information on this?
irs.gov.
The NEV stands for neighborhood electric vehicle. It is street legal, but can only go 35 MPH. It's often used in retirement communities.
http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=207051,00.html
The credit amount varies by the type of vehicle purchased and when it was purchased.
already have everything i need to do the job
how do I find customers online or phone?
You need more than you know, but to answer your question directly, neither. you get cleaned up shower, clean hair, nails, polished shoes, casual but kind of dressed up. You drive to a commercial area close to home (lots of businesses and companies and you go in every door all day and mark the streets done in a planner. you go in and ask for the owner of the company and see if they will see you without an appointment. You then either meet them and tell them about your company and what you do right then and ask them for a chance at proving how much better you are than their existing cleaning service crew. ( take your finger and wipe off the top of a picture in his hallway at that point and show him the dust ) or you will have to take their card and call him to make an appointment to go back (this happens most the time). but before you do any of this you are going to need to read a few books about sales, customer service, time management, closing, asking for referrals and business. While you read these books take lots of notes especially trying integrate your ideas into the authors explanations of what they did that worked for them. After you are comfortable and well practiced in all the ways to say hi I am john and i want to clean your offices. you need to set up as many commercial accounts you can because then you can offer discounts to employees at companies you are already cleaning. lots to do and it all starts with brains and face to face communication skills. Make it easy, get up and go to the library right now.
You need to advertise. face book advertise, you need to be on google and yahoo searches, try craigslist.. You need to create flyers. Have an open house.
Just put your name out there
I am having a very VERY difficult time finding the current ratio for this stupid word problem! I need to find the current ratio for a company that has the following in assets and liabilities.
Buildings = $25,000
Accounts Receivable = $27,000
Inventory = $80,000
Cash = $24,000
Equipment = $33,000
Land = $40,000
Accounts Payable = $14,000
Notes Payable (due w//in one year) = $24,000
Notes Payable (due beyond one year) = $120,000
Accumulated Deprication of Equipment = $12,000
-I also need the working capital.
I hate word problems w/ a passion, and I have been trying for about an hour to make it work properly! If it were mulitple choice, I would have a better idea, of the answer.
I am now desperate!
Answer:
Current ratio = current assets / current liabilities = $131000 / $38000 = 3.45
Working capital = current assets - current liabilities = $131000 - $38000 = $93000
Current assets:
Cash
Accounts receivable
Inventory
Current liabilites:
Accounts payable
Note payable (due within one year)
