I rent my place. It costs £1690 per month and I always pay in cash because that's the way I like to do things. When I signed the contract to rent the place, I said that I would pay direct debit every month, but then I went into my estate agents on the first month and said that from now on I'd be paying cash, they said it was fine (verbally). Now, one month of rent from August has gone missing (total £1690) and not only can they not find any reciept their end, but they also cant find any eveidence of payment going into their bank. I do have a reciept, stating that I've paid for that month, and counter signed by a member of their staff; but I'm just wondering, considering that on the contract I said I'd pay by direct debit, will I be liable for the unaccounted for payment? Even though I've got proof I've paid? Personally I think a member of their staff have disappeared with it. What do you think?
If you have a receipt showing you paid I would absolutely say you are fine, I would make a copy of it, send it to them and keep it somewhere safe, obviously someone in their office grabbed it but you are clear of all your obligations.
I would go and talk to the manager and show your proof you paid it and this will be a lesson to you that you always always save every piece of evidence that you paid bills till you are sure they have been credited.
We always have to remember that mere humans handle the money and they can sometimes get greedy
Cash is a big temptation for some, it can go missing. I would pay by some form of bank transfer, even by cheque. I do wonder when you feel the need to pay quite a high sum by cash, would the Inland Revenue like to know about it ?
Your fine. But under no circumstances, let that receipt out of your site. Take a photo copy of it to give to your agent as proof, and ask that they put in writing they know you have paid. ITS A LOT OF MONEY TO LOOSE!!
You have the receipt which is proof, you are safe. But they may change it and require you pay by direct debit in future.
your safe
I WOULD WRITE A CERTIFIED LETTER TO THE APARTMENT MGT. AS TO WHAT HAD HAPPENED…….

I WOULD CONTACT THE BANK THAT THE MANAGEMENT CANNOT TAKE MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT ANYMORE…………AND WITH THE BANKS IN AMERICA…….I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT THAT MONEY WAS TAKEN WITHOUT MY PERMISSION……..

MY BANK HAS TREATED IT LIKE A IN ISSUE OF FRAUD………AND HAS GOTTEN MY MONEY BACK……….

SOME MANAGEMENT COMPANIES . WILL NOT TAKE CASH DUE TO THE PROBLEM OF ARMED ROBBERY………….BUT THEY DIDNT SAY ANYTHING TO YOU………

BUT YOU HAVE PROOF OF TWO PAYMENTS IN ONE MONTH…….YOU ARE IN THE CLEAR….

im sixteen, and i am going to be living on my own in a few weeks. ive been looking for a job for about 6 months. can i claim job seekers allowance if i don't have a job and live on my own ?
You cannot claim Jobseekers until you are 18 except in very special circumstances that they do not seem to want to tell you about.

"Making a claim
For many people, claiming benefits can seem a little daunting. The first thing to do is phone your local Jobcentre Plus office. Advisers will be able to help you find out what you're entitled to and guide you through filling in a claim form.

If you're 16 or 17, someone will call you back within 4 hours to discuss your situation, and if you're 18 or over, an adviser will contact you within 24 hours. Remember that the more information you can give an adviser about your personal situation and financial circumstances, the easier it will be for them to judge what you're eligible for"

The above is from -
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/YoungPeople/Money/FinancialHelpForYoungPeople/DG_10027506 which you will find useful
as is http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/Employedorlookingforwork/index.htm .
What is Job Seeker's allowance??? Never heard of it before. If its like Unemployment Insurance in Missouri then the answer would be no as that is only available after you loose a job not before you even get one.

Edit: Ah I see its a UK thing. Kinda makes me wish I loved in England right now as the US has nothing like that, at least that I am aware of. All we have is unemployment after you loose your job. Right now I could use an allowance of somekind while I am looking for work.
You can only claim JSA at the age of 16 if you are estrnaged from your parents or guardian, you are a member of a couple responsible for a child, or have been released from legal custody within the past 8 weeks.
You have to 18 to start claiming job seekers allowance.

You also have to be 18 before you can sign a rental agreement.
you cannot claim jobseekers until you are 18 yrs old, u maybe able to get income support if you have specific circumstances
I'm not sure but I think you may have to be 18. Go and speak to the people in the jobcentre.

Yes. But to get it they will ask you to have at least 3 interviews every 2 weeks.

I am an independent contractor for a petsitting company, I make pretty decent money and have been working there for a year and a half. I have 2 grand to put down on a car, will I qualify for a loan even though I am not an employee with a set salary?
I would think so, as long as your credit score and other variables are in order and you qualify for the anount you need.

Also, a good site is…

Have you filed taxes? Do you get issued a 1099? Do you have any other credit? Is your credit good?

Yes, you can qualify for a car loan being an independent contractor. You just have to have the credit and income.

If this is your first car, you may have to get a cosigner though.

Financed cars is more expensive to insurance cause it requires full coverage. You can compare how much you would pay for full coverage of this car using this tool - carquotes.sinfree.net
sure -talk to your banker.

Wasn't expecting it, and I know in a few weeks I will regret spending it on something stupid. So what do I do with it?
Save it for some emergency. Open a savings account with it.
You put it in the bank and save it.

I have 5 yrs. experience for it. Do you think I have a chance at the job?
Breathe Deep

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/moodyblues/latelament.html
Yes, Redcorn say you have good chance at it… Way to calm down… Take action… Tonight, do everything you can to get ready for it… Get everything done, ready, laid out, ready for you to wake up, take shower, grab stuff and go… Also spend time tonight look on web, and find out everything you can about the company… what they do, what's important to them… where they are in the marketplace… etc.. this will give you something to keep mind off be too anxious…. Tomorrow morning make sure you eat good breakfast, and have full stomach before go to interview.. Do not drink any coffee, or eat/drink anything else that will further stimulate your anxiety…

Good luck…!! YOU can do it!!!
sounds great to me! I would take some deep breaths and talk slowly during the interview…I know I tend to talk really fast when nervous. Be professional but talk to them like a friend so you are comfortable during the interview. Be confident and you'll do great!

good luck :)
I bet you will get the job!! Take some deep breaths..pray..good luck and you will do great!!
Sure you got chance, just breath and focus.
I will think so….good luck !
that sounds real good good luck take deep breaths and stretches

I am an Australian citizen, and I'm looking for a job but I don't want to have to wait the month or however long it takes to get my TFN. And yeah, I'm wondering if it's actually possible to get a job without having a TFN, or if I can work while waiting for my TFN.

Thank you. :)
Would agree with above answers and if you do pay more tax in the beginning, you will get it back at the end of the year.
You can work without a tax file number but ur employer must take 50% tax of you! Have you looked at the ATO website as im sure you could apply for a TFN online. I got a ABN online took, an hour and they gave me the number straight away.
I'm sure you can advise your new employer when you fill out the Employment Declaration that you're waiting on one.

Will being qualified as a broker enable me to broker in all states?
You will need to get a New York Broker's license and a Florida Broker's license to practice in those states. You should easily be able to find the requirements for each with a google search.
Most likely no.

Different states have different prerequisites (because laws vastly change from state to state).

Also each state probably wants your money in terms of fees and such.
