well im a junior in high school right now and my whole life i have wanted to be a vet. I just love animals and that seems like a good job that gets paid good but i know you need chemistry and science but i really hate those subjects. Im more into math. Well this past couple days I been thinking and maybe changing my mind on what i want to be. Im really good at math and i was thinking of something like an accountant but do they get paid good. like I like filing papers stuff like that but im not sure if i should stick with a vet or an accountant or something else.
its great that you are already thinking about the future! my best advice would be to try and get a part time job / internship or even a job shadowing at a vet, accountant, or any other areas you think you might like. there is nothing like actually working in an environment to decide whether or not you actually like it.
the number one criteria should be having fun, you should enjoy your job and be excited to go to work so think about what that would entail. also consider the fact that your job criteria will change drastically between your age and the time you actually start working. so, as hard as it may be to think about it, you should try to consider what you will be willing to do as far as work when you get married, have children, want to visit family, travel, etc. where you want to live and what your life will be like are huge factors too. and while both of the careers you named will make good money, thats not all there is to life! so talk to your family, try to get some job experience, and really think hard about it- ultimately no one can make the decision better than you, good luck!
