okay my dad just had surgery and they accidently cut his throat a little so it hurts to swallow can someone tell me how to help him like is there a type of food or drink that can ease the pain
Was this from the breathing tube down his throat (the endotracheal tube)? Being sore after that is common. If OK with his doc he can eat soft & cold foods (popsicles, ice ream, sorbet etc) and soft foods easy to swallow. (if there is any doubt, ask his doc). ASk about any pain killers (he should have some from the surgery).

Call your dad's doctor if you have any questions about his condition! They might advise you to have him take an OTC painkiller — or that might be the worst possible thing you could do for him. No total stranger on the Internet can tell what to do for someone who's ill or hurt. Ask a real professional.
