I do not know all the type of lawyers so if you could have it like this

(type of lawyer)- 180,000
Veronica is spot on here.

Also keep in mind that many lawyers are unemployed right now. There's a bit of a glut in the lawyer market, and many attorneys are not currently practicing law.

However, if you want to make 180k kind of money, you will probably need to go to a top school and all that this entails.

Next, learn tax law or intellectual property law. Large corporations really need these kinds of legal services and are willing to pay top dollar to anyone willing to learn such a tedious.and boring subject.

Then hopefully with this really mundane but in demand specialization and top notch credentials you just might earn the right work your *** off at a big law firm.

You will eventually have to make partner for this kind of salary. This will take a lot of years of hard work. In order to work that hard, you will have to sacrifice any kind of free time, enjoyment, and meaningful relationships with other human beings.

Are you certain you need that much money? Many people enjoy their lives quite well on the 40 - 90k salary range after partying through school and finding some nice little organization with a busy but reasonable work load.
it depends on a LOT of things like:
- where you live
- how big a law office you work in (private vs. corporation)
- if you're self-employed or part of a firm
- if you're a partner or just associate
- how experienced you are
- what type of law you work in
basically some lawyers make millions, some make a lot lower. it costs money to start up a business. i would say an average starting salary would be anywhere from 40,000-90,000 but that's not in all states
That's the salary of a second or third year associate at a top 250 law firm in the United States. But those lawyers are recruited from the top 10 percent from the top 14 law schools in the country. There are over 200 law schools in America and around 40,000 law graduates each spring. There are nowhere near the amount of jobs or work to sustain them all.

Realistically, most attorney jobs start around $35-40k, and you can expect a hiring manager to receive about 200-300 resumes for a single position. Many law graduates are also saddle with student loan payments of $300-1,000 per month for the next 30 years after graduation.

There are ads on Craigslist in New York that are offering attorney $8 an hour to start. These are serious ads because the poster must pay $25 to list.

Law is one of the most overrated and overromanticized professions. There are plenty of other ways to make good money without all the stress and debt.
A corporate attorney or litigation specialist COULD make 500 million dollars. But that is not typical.
It mainly depends on how good you are
