my brothers abroad right now and he told me he's gonna send me money tomorow and told me to text him the card details he needed to send it to me
does he mean long number on the front of my debit card or does he need more info in order to send me money?
He only needs the account number and sort code, he doesn't need the number on your debit card, expiry date etc
Sounds like he wants to "wire" you the money, so i think he means he needs your bank's actual routing # and bank account # (these can find on the bottom of your checks for your checking account). I've never heard of anyone sending money to someone's "debit card #" before.
For security reasons, do not send credit card details in a text message. Call him, make sure you recognize his voice, ask what he needs to know, verify that no one else is listening where you are or where he is, and then tell him the information.
Please don't do it, this is not a safe way at all, I would call him and give him the account number and the card number, all the info you need are on the front of your card.
