Okay, I am 15 years old. I work at a resteraunt.I work 3 days a week. I have been there for 2 Years. And this kid who has been there for 2 months is a huge pothead and every single day I have off tries to call me in for some reason. Even when there is enough people there. What can I do to stop this. I only want to work 3 days. And I don't want to get fired. I just ignore the calls.
Is he your boss or something? If not, then just ignore the calls. If he asks why you don't return his calls, then you say that you are very busy on your days off and ONLY call you in an emergency situation when there is no one else left. I had to do this on occasion. Eventually, the individual stopped relying on me to cover every shift. Don't give too much detail on what you do on your time off. People don't need to know everything you do. People think that it is okay to know everything and it is not okay. Another idea is to call the restaurant and hopefully someone else answers so you can ask them if business is pretty busy or slow to the point where people are standing around. Inform the person you are talking to that you do not want it known that you even called. Find a trustworthy person for this.
