(1) IN GENERAL- Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall establish a temporary reinsurance program (in this section referred to as the ‘reinsurance program’) to provide reimbursement to assist participating employment-based plans with the cost of providing health benefits to retirees and to eligible spouses, surviving spouses and dependents

This is text directly from the bill as it stands. Would this be in their if this administration would want to "euthanize" old folks as some are suggesting?
to everyone saying "how are you reading that?" or whatever, he is obviously bringing it up to point out something wrong that someone else said, to prove that very few people against the bill have actually read it.

the thing is dude, we live in america. most people here are very much in the train of thought of "this is MY money and no one elses, and only I get to spend MY money how I want to"

they dont bother to actually do a bit of math and see that in the grand scheme of things national health care will cost them LESS than what they are paying now.

so they will make up absolutely any excuse against it to make it look bad simply because they dont want to spend even one penny of their money on someone else

frankly, i dont care. if a few dollars coming out of my paycheck every two weeks means i can potentially save a life because its going towards national health care, then take that money, go for it
I agree with you.

And for the people who are blind to what Obama represents to this country, I stopped feeling sorry for all you hypocrites.

A Gov't big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have.

Annoy a Liberal, use facts and logic!
Ridiculous. How do you read that into it?
you are insane, that is no where in those words.
the "scare tactics' out there are getting more ridiculous.

health care will not cover you and force the doctor to euthanize you.

the plan is like Hitlers plan.

you wont be able to choose your doctors or your care; cant do that now depending on what type of health insurance you have.

don't want "socialized medicine" but that is what the VA, medicaid and medicare is and it works. The VA is the best care you can get.

the list goes on and on and i am amazed of how many things they keep making up as they go along.

right now we need health care reform, there are i believe 5 different plans out there that no one can agree to. do we have to wait till there are 100 million uninsured and 50 million under-insured before we wake up and get something going?

we now have 47 million uninsured and 28 million under-insured by 2008 statistics, we need something that works; please;;;;;;;;;
Two completely different demographics.

This is not the section that has people up in arms. This section applies only to people that have retired, are over 55, and not eligible for Medicare. It applies to employers that offer or want to offer retirement health benefits. If an employer does not offer retirement health benefits they are not subject to this section. The employer must participate in the reinsurance program. This is in section 321 which amends the employee retirement income security act of 1974. It will refund 80% of your health care costs (including premium, deductible, co-pays, co-insurance) that exceed $15,000 and is less than $90,000, as explained in section 164.

What has people upset is in Division B (which concerns people over 65 or on Medicare/Medicaid), Title II, subtitle C, section 1233. There are also references throughout Division B that will apply in real life situations if you read it, including many rules and regulations "to be determined" by the Secretary of Health after the bill passes. Divsion A section 123 establishes a Health Benefits Advisory Committee which will determine what treatment you get. This, on top of Obama stating that the elderly should just take a pain pill, scares people.
Sure does.
