I stopped writing checks years ago. I have had my current bank account for about 4 years. I was with Bank One and it changed to Chase. Can I still use my checks? The routing and account numbers are still the same. I need to pay my rent online and I'd rather not pay the extra fees they tag on for paying by any method other than an e-check.
As long as the routing number and bank account number is the exact same….yes you can. I asked my cousin who is sitting right here and she works on a teller line. But, you should write a check for cash and go to the bank to be sure they will accept the checks with the old name. There should be no problem.
sa long that you got money in the other account it shouldnt be no problem, but the bank doestnt than open another account Report Abuse
Hi,
You need to ask your bank, at a certain point they stop accepting the old bank's checks.
