This question is for my friend. I am very financially stable and responsible. Bankruptcy is very unlikely to mark my credit report so I dont really know consequences after those who went through it.
My friend carried a $45K debt. He is not a permanent resident in the US. but he rack up his debt since the past five years. He is a spoil brat from some rich family back in Asia. His parents have been paying for his bills. Right now he finished his school here and wants to go home. He wonder if he should pay his debt off or just file bankruptcy since he will not come back to US for few years.
I am speaking for an alien consumer situation. He has no purpose in US, $0 income and plan to return home. if anyone who is in this situation, please feel free to give some comment.
He probably could do it if he doesnt plan to come back for five years or more, there is no point people moralising about the rights and wrongs of it, bad things happen to us all and we deal with it how we can.
Maybe for his own peace of mind he should do it and then try and sort out his excessive spending or its a perpetual cycle.
.
he sould pay his bills
