My daughter needs help with some questions on her maths homework. But I can't do it because I don't have time to look at it I just have time to read it. You have to do the working out as well!
These are the questions:
1. Gareth saves up his 50 pence coins. How many 50p's will he need to save before he can buy a snooker table?(£85.00 for a snooker table)
2. Gillian saves up her 20 pence coins. How many 20p's will she need to save before she can buy a pair of trainers?(£23.40 for a pair of trainers)
Thank you for your help!
Q1
2 50p's make a pound.
10 50p's make 5 pounds
20 50p's make 10 pounds
160 50p's make 80 pounds
So 170 50p's make 85 pound's
Q2
5 20p's make £1
50 20p's make £10
100 20p's make £20
115 20p's make £23
117 20p's make £23.40
117 20p's make £23.40
Do you think that seeking the answers to your daughter's homework in this way is truly helping either her or you? These are straightforward arithmetic which most can do in their heads without even setting the problem down on paper. I believe it would be far better for you or someone to explain the workings for the first question and then ensured she could solve the second without further assistance.
By answering her homework for her it may get her off the hook and complete her homework but what has she learned other than taking the easy way out?
I realise that my answer may not be popular but isn't your daughters education of real importance.
how old is your daughter?. surely she can work it out i know that i can. i am 15. or is your daughter just a cover up story because you cant do the math and don't want people to think you are stupid? it is really simple math for a 7 year old. your daughter will not get any better at math is someone is doing it for her. she does not need the answers done for her. if she is really stuck she should ask her math teacher for help. you daughter needs guidance not someone to do the answers for her.
wait.. you don't have time to help your "dauighter" in her homework but you have the time to ask it here?? it may've taken you longer to type the questions than solving the problem itself..
it's easy, you don't need help
1.)
there are 2 50p's in £1, therefore, 85 x 2
=170 50p's
2) 5 20p's in £1, therefore, 23.40 x 5
=117 20p's
1. 170 50p's
2. 117 20p's
come on these are easy questions i think u shold learn to do it yourself
Agreed with Green above me, I always had to do my own homework, that is the point of it!
Also, how do you not have time to read it but have time to type it up here for the answers? Working these out should hae taken a lot less time than typing the question out!
