It would be really cool if you made all the pics camouflage into 1 image
I'd definitely put some pics of teenagers wearing a&f and stuff like that in there.
Basically go out and purchase some teen magazines and use pictures of people wearing clothes from common teen stores (Like American Eagle, Aeropostale, The Gap, etc.) plus use pictures of young celebrities from magazines and you should be pretty much set.
If they ask for an explanation, say that people shop at these stores because they want to feel "cool" and be just like everyone else their age who buys from these stores. These young celebs are also popular enough so that people try to be like them and conform so that they themselves feel special and unique even though they look just like every other person between the ages of 14-22. Hope that was helpful!
one of the best examples are on fashion. it would be nice to have some photos of really famous celebrities particularly for the teenagers and post some photos of those who usually follow everything they do,use and even how they act..
it could also be fad on dieting, houses, schools, etc.
My son is ADHD and is a little behind in certain areas of school. The biggest areas are reading and writing. He's in 2nd grade and reads at a first grade level, however his comprehension is outstanding. He can remember every detail of a book. One trouble is he has to write out sentences of things that happen in his stories. He knows what to say he just doesn't know how to write it. He can recognize a word and read it but when asked to spell it out, he can't. Any suggestions on how to improve his reading and writing skills? Thanks for your help.
Hi, Of my 6 children one of them has been diagnosed with ADHD and one hasn't, but I'm sure he has it. He is 26 and a college graduate. He has struggled a lot, but is a fine young man who does well. He does suffer from a low self esteem though. It took him 6 years to get his BA, but he did it. Our 16 year old has been diagnosed, and he is a bundle of joy. We tease that he is distracted by "air". So, anyway, teaching them to read was a challenge. I would say that they were probably 7-8 before they caught on. Then I made sure they had plenty to read that was below their reading level, so they could enjoy it. I also helped them read their assignments. If they were expected to read a story I would read one page and have them read one page. With writing I had them tell me out loud what they wanted to write. Sometimes I would write it for them, so we could keep the creative juices flowing. Sometimes I would tell them to write and not worry about spelling at all. If they are concentrating on sentence structure it is hard to think about spelling too. Then I would write the correct spelling of the word at the bottom of the page and they could erase theirs and put in the correct one. That process of correcting themselves teaches them spelling. Having to stop and look up every word causes them to loose their train of thought and get discouraged.
Just to rule out…have you made sure that his hearing and vision are OK? My daughter had problems like yours in school and we thought … ADHD that is causing the delays in learning. We checked vision and hearing. It turns out she needed glasses. It is always good to rule out the basics. I also would have an occupational therapist evaluate her visual perceptual skills and visual motor skills. Very important since sometimes these are the underlying problems causing the delays! If you have never heard of this look for a pediatric occupational therapist in your area for a free consultation. Most of them offer it and even offer free screenings. They are very helpful when it comes to that. If you do not get a better suggestion from teachers think about mine. I hope everything turns out OK.
My daughter has had quite a lot of time off school and I recieved a letter from the Authorities last year. Now she's had more time off, she's generally sick but I'm worried I will get in MORE trouble with the Authorities. What can we do? Write a letter or call the school? I can't make her go in school sick so we need help please?
letters from the pediatrician to show she was sick. everytime she is absent she needs a doctor's excuse.
Get a doctor's note every time, they can't get you in trouble if you've got proof she really is sick. Parents' notes don't count after a certain time. Also, when she's going to be late due to a doctor's appointment and you don't know whether she'll be at school after or not, call the school first and tell them you'll call them again once you know more yourself.
Also, the idea another user put forward for someone to bring home her homework and stuff so she doesn't fall behind is good, especially if she misses several days at a time. If you can't talk to the teachers, have one of her class mates bring by the work she has to complete, so that if she's well enough, she's got something to do.
in your position, i would call both the authorities and the school and just explain your situation.
better safe then sorry. and theyd be understanding towards the situation im sure when they understand what you and your daughter are going through with her being ill.
you might want to go to the doctors and question whats actually wrong, because it sounds pretty serious if you have had this much time off.
goodluck
i wish you all the best
ive had experience with school refusal, i missed 50 days of school last year. what you should ask for, is a teacher at the school to go to your house everyday or two, and give her work that other teachers expect her to do. so ask her who her favorite teacher is, and ask that teacher to stop at the house every day or two, and ask him/her to bring work from other teachers!!!
good luck!
well, make sure she isn't faking sick; my sister tends to do that a lot. or just make her go to school sick if she can. she doesn't have to be there the whole day, but being late or leaving early is probably better than missing an entire day. have her take medicine or anitbiotics…hope this helps.
get a letter from the pediatrician
get a sick leave
for science fair?
"If your body temperature always stays the same, why do you feel hot or cold?"
I see what Kathyrea is saying, but I personally like the topic. I would be interested in reading a project that explained that phenomenon.
Hmm, not sure as it's only your inner body that stays about 98.6. The rest of you feels hot or cold depending on if the outside of your body is higher or lower than your internal temp.
I think it's interesting! Most people don't know the reason behind it, and would love to learn!
yeah because some people are clueless about those kinds of things!
yeap!
It doesn't.
Have you ever asked yourself this? There is plenty of reasons to, because they are ENTIRELY different things if you think about it. Just put as an answer your ideas of each or just agree with mine (do not just put that you agree with mine to save time).
Here is my Point of View of each:
Grades: Reflect both your Intelligence and your will to Work.
Intelligence: Reflects how you think and approach things, as well as seeing how much clarity you have.
Learning: Reflects what you did not know before, just because you get bad grades does not mean you are not Learning let alone smart.
I once had a fellow classmate ask me last year (I was in 10th grade) "Why do you have a D in here? I thought you were smart." and I said "Just because I am smart doesn't mean I am not lazy.".
It's true, I can be lazy at times, but I really punch it when it counts. It is however a bit sad that sometimes a student's intelligence is based ONLY on grades, but that IS NOT the case in the slightest expression. I mean, even an idiot can get an A in a class if he wants to work and has a drive to do it, am I right, or am I right?
I definitely agree with everything you said. It always bothered me when people say a person is smart because he or she has good grades. I know valedictorians who are so dumb it confuses me how they live, and I've met a lot of people who didn't have the greatest transcripts but were absolutely brilliant.
Grades reflect mostly the willingness to work, to cooperate and the desire to do well. Wanting to do well is a drive and intelligence determines how easily or difficult this can be achieved.
Intelligence is the capacity to reason, to be rational and to be able to work with the knowledge that one has retained. An intelligent person is open-minded and flexible.
Learning…hmm I'm not exactly too sure what you mean by this, do you mean the ability to learn? In this case, anybody can learn. Just because a person has good grades, does not mean he or she has learned anything. Students nowadays are more concerned with grade grubbing than actually learning. On the other hand, just because that person has bad grades does not mean he or she didn't learn anything. Intelligence plays in to determine whether learning is done or not or how easily it is done.
So all three are interdependent but are separate in idea. I'm a pretty lazy guy too, I had horrible grades in high school because of that but had a killer SAT score.
If even an idiot can get an A grade in a class, that class isn't worth the paper it's written on.
So no, I think you're wrong. There are hundreds of courses out there that you can work as hard as you like, if you don't have the aptitude for it you won't be able to get a high grade.
You want to be judged on your intelligence? Take difficult courses, not easy ones. Get an A in calculus or a language.
I agree. I also believe that some students get better grades in different classes because of personalities, not if they are smart or not.
I do not have a 3.0 average GPA on my high school transcripts. I almost do on one of my GPAs (there are a few listed… weighted, unweighted, cal grant, etc.) however i have taken classes at my local community college for three years over the summer and during evenings and my only D on my report card was freshman year in an AVID college prep program. I was wondering which of the many GPAs the UCs take and whether or not my SAT scores can influence them letting me in with a low GPA?
I have heard the the ucs base their acceptance almost entirely on sats, so do well on those and youre almost garunteed a spot

Would you class it as smart or stupid to google an answer to a question, befor asking for help?
I would classify it as smart. Sometimes you can find answers without having to ask people.
Sometimes it kind of depends on what it is.
I usually google my questions and search Yahoo! Answers before I ask the question.
HIH!
Trying to find and answer for your self is smart
I am writing a eulogy for the first time in my life, and i have to present it to the class.
So now, i have everything and i tried to write something, but now, at the very end, i don't know how i am supposed to end it in a good manner.
Can you please help me and write some sentences or a short paragraphs which would be used to end a eulogy with? Thanks
I would use:
His good memories will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.
That's the simplest thing you can write
How about:
Live long and prosper, or Thank you and goodnight!!
Just google search some samples of eulogies.
Is it harder to do a double and triple major in college? If you do either of these do you still have a minor? can you do a double or triple minor? I know it's a lot of questions. I'm not sure if it makes difference but i'm planning on going to college at a csu or uc (california university) thanks in advance
You can have as many majors as you wish but it will take you a lot more time. Some double majors may only require a few extra classes if they are related. For instance if you do a criminology/sociology double major it may only require another semester because they are so related. My roommate, however, is doing a double major in Vocal Performance and Speech and communication disorders. These majors being extremly unrelated will require her to spend a good 6 years in college. As far as minors are concerned it varies by school but at the university of Minnesota you may have as many minors as you wish but again, every extra minor takes more time because it requires you to take more classes.
It all depends on how related the majors are to one another and how much of a life you want to have in college. my friend in college majored in computer engineering, computer science and mathematics but he took an average of 24 credits a semester and had classes from 11-6 without any breaks. He also always had worked to do. So its possible if you really want to triple major but it is not advised.
well i am a senior-
i am sociology bachelors, psychology and religion minors-
its like a double major-
its a lot of work- and sometimes you have to stay a summer term- not to mention you don't have much of a social life- but you get more out of your education-
after i finish college i am going for a master's in social work…to be a social worker…
You can do double major and a minor but i believe that is the limit, it is in canada atleast and our school systems are very similar, it is much harder with the more majors you have because you have more classes and more work

Well, in my city school in NY, they only allow one major and double minor. If I go to the liberal arts school, they allow double major. Of course it's harder to double/triple major compared to having one depending on how related the majors are.
yes
i was talking to a girl and she kept saying "yea im cothaspetic" when i said something. it kinda sounded like saying "ya i undersatnd" or something. but i never heard of the word before and she wouldnt tell me
Spell it numerous ways. Kopasetic, rarest spelling, more popular is copacetic, and even copasetic.. ALL mean: very satisfactory, or acceptable, or agreeable.
All the above are almost correct. There is a word "cothaspetic". It means to have the appearance of a hyperbolic cotangent. Which obviously has no bearing on you conversation. LOL! WITH GUSTO.
Yes, she's saying copacetic, also spelled kopacetic. It's a fun word meaning cool, great. I used to hear it a lot in Berkeley in the sixties!
I think she was embarrassed to tell you, because she was mispronouncing the word. She meant to say copacetic, (pronounced ko pa set ik) meaning ok or fine.
If the word you mean is "copacetic" , it means fine or OK
I think you mean copacetic and it means "go with the flow"
its not a word. maybe she was making it up or something. but maybe you juz spelled it wrong?
