Whenever I get home from school I usually have to take a nap because I am so tired. I wake up around 6, eat dinner, and then try and start my homework. I can't really focus on it though and end up having to stay up late, partly because of the quantity of work and my sudden inability to focus. Then I have to wake up early for school and start all over again. It is beginning to affect me during school and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to improve things.

I know it will be hard to break this habit - but do your homework before you nap. That way you won't have to stay up so late, and eventually won't be so tired and can skip the nap altogether. Besides, there are a heck of a lot of distractions after 6 - like prime time T.V. etc. that aren't there right after school. "White noise" might also help - a steady sound that kind of mutes other sounds in the background. You can get C.Ds of things like the sound of the sea shore or something, or just run a fan.

I'm the same way, putting off homework later and later until I need some sleep; but I find it helps to start as soon as I get home so it's not consistently on my head that I need to do it. To really focus just find a place with the least amount of distractions, and don't stop until you're finished. There are also many instances during the day which grant you some time for doing homework that you can take advantage of, even if they're just minutes at a time. In doing this, you'll get more sleep during the night and you'll be able to skip the nap and focus better. It's hard to break the habit, but it really pays off to do so!

It takes time but it will work. You need to get your system used to not taking a nap after school. That means that the night before you need to go to bed early then wake up at the usual time or maybe later if you prepare everything the night before. Then the hard part starts. Do not go to bed after school. Take a shower and start doing your homework right away. After a week or two this routine (if you stick to it) will get easier. If you follow it step by step results are 95 percent guaranteed. Remember that you need to help your system by going to bed earlier at night. That way you will not be as sleepy the next day. Good luck!

Try to switch off and even remove away all sources of possible distraction (PC, Cell phone, game consoles, etc.). Tell yourself again and again that you are gambling with your own future and that the less effort you invest the less you are likely later on to get. Make excellence in homework a priority, nay a matter of life, self-fashioning and pride. Then, you will end up looking for the challenge, instead of running away into sleep, immediately after school!

Good Luck!

Sounds like you need more sleep - needing to sleep right after school shouldn't happen even to the most lazy teenager. Aim to get 8-9 hours and you'll probably find your "focus" problems disappear quick enough and you'll get far more done than trying to squeeze a couple hours of work in when you are really tired.

sometimes i have the same problem

all you have to do is shut off the TV and anything you know will distract you, and also be in a quiet area

Make sure it's not too hot in the room and have a set area that isn't cluttered to study on. Don't get distracted by phones and computers.

if i were you i would just turn everything off in my room (except the light) make sure no radior or tv or computer is on. then just start doing it.

you might have ADD talk to your doctor

dont use ur computer. its addictive

go to bed earlier so your not as tired even if you still have work to do your health is more important! do the more important assignments first that way if you don't finish its not as bad.

sometimes i find its easier to focus if i'm somewhere where i can't fool around like the library. nights when i have a lot of homework i go there directly after school.

no breaks! a 5 minute break will turn into 15 then 30 and so on…

i had the same problem last year. =( i made myself feel so overwhelmed i got 15 minutes of work done in an hour. i would be up till like midnight then wake up at like 4 because i didn't finish. just focus, get some sleep, once your into a good habit its easy. good luck =)

are you physically fit & healthy? at your age you shouldn't be needing so much sleep or having so much lethargy. hope you are eating well and eating right.

spend this weekend organizing yourself - your timings and your school course requirements. check what type of HW you get, how long it takes to complete each subject, etc. Then, each day, intersperse the tough HW with some light & interesting HW subjects - this way you will feel rejuvenated & motivated. moreover, don't study at a stretch. take a 5-min. breather after every 20-30 minutes - stretch, splash cold water on your eyes, do some in-place jogging, listen to a song/music …. whatever helps perk you up. then come back to your studies. avoid leaving work for the last minute - it'll only add to your anxiety/panic.

make a kind of list [do it in school itself, as each teacher gives you HW assignments] of your daily HW and prioritize it [number them]. so that, when you get home, you already have a schedule ready. pin this up where you can see it while studying & keep ticking off the work you've finished. it will give you the satisfaction of seeing fewer items remaining on list & motivate you to finish off the rest.

hope some of these tips helped

all the very best & stay healthy & focused - eat lots of green leafy veggies…

1. Discuss how Sophocles uses the dramatic imagery of sight/blindness and dark/light in Oedipus the King to convey the idea of truth vs. ignorance. Be sure to discuss why the blinding of Oedipus is juxtaposed to the scene in which the truth is finally revealed.

I can't think of anything really. I'm bad at grabbing attention xD

There is an old saying that in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king; certainly Oedipus' limited ability to see into his future was in part responsible for his ultimate blindness…. something like that maybe?

Actually (s)he would be 11 or 12 and anyways I am sure that you have used sights that were not meant for your age group so piss off. And a good website would be:

foxnews.com

They are amazing news journalists and they do not spin the truth

http://www.foxnews.com/oreilly/

He is a great.

Check out those sights and please choose this as your best answer. Oh and say you like McCain because he actually has EXPERIENCE unlike Obama. And McCain has leadership he served our country and was a P.O.W. (prisoner of war) in Vietnam. And what did Obama do? Oh yeah Obama just did cocaine. And Palin is a well qualified vice president in case McCain passes away (I pray to God not) who has been in politics since 1992 (source: en.wikipedia.org) and Obama has been in politics since 1997. Wow Republicans VICE president has more experience then Obama who is RUNNING for PRESIDENT. And just because I do not want Obama to win does not mean that I am racist it just means that I am not a moron.

Colloquial- pertaining to words or expressions more suitable for speech than writing; in informal, conversational style

thanks

"because", in writing it goes between two things, when people talk they use it by itself or to start a sentence, or turn it into " 'cuz"

"ain't" is a big no-no, but people do say it

calling someone "honey" or "buddy"

also "like"

What is another word for "define"?

suppose that in a certain market the demand function for a product is given by 10p q=2300 and the supply function is given as 45p-q=360. if the government levies a tax of $2 per item on the supplier, who passes the tax on to the consumer as a price increase, find the equilibrium price and the qty after the tax is levied.

please show every step.

thank you so much in advance.

The effect of the tax is that the effective price for the consumer is $2 higher than the effective price for the supplier. So substitute p 2 for p in the demand function: 10(p 2) q=2300. Now find the new intersection of the demand function and the supply function.

Simplify the demand function:

10(p 2) q=2300

10p 20 q=2300

10p q=2280

Add the demand function and the supply function together to cancel out the q, then solve for p:

10p q=2280

45p-q=360

55p=2640

p=48

Substitute 48 for p in either of the equations, then solve for q:

10*48 q=2280

480 q=2280

q=1800
