You use whom when it's the object of the sentence, and who when it's the subject.
I don't know if I want to register for the Nov. test date or the Dec. one. The deadline was yesterday and I don't want to pay 23 dollars for the late fee. That's a rip! If I take the test on Dec. it will give me more time to do some studying. I was wondering do all the UC's accept the December test date for freshmen admissions?! I don't know cuz I have to submit my college application on Nov. 31 and I will need to wait for my SAT II scores. I don't know how long that will take. How long does it usually takes for the scores to be online?! What should I do…?
the UC's do accept the Dec SAT II
just don't be late for that one, that will be the last one they will accept for applications
UC app is due nov 30, but the test scores should be due in by january, so they still accept the december one.
good luck!
I would just pay the late fee if you can't take it in December, 23 dollars isn't that much, unless you can't afford it. I would call the UC headquarters and ask them, because they would give you the correct answer, and give you the answer you are looking for. If you can wait, I would take in December. Studying can raise your score by a lot. Good Luck, and hope you succeed in the SAT subject tests and getting into a UC!
A speedboat increases in speed uniformly from 15 m/s to 40 m/s in a distance of 250 m. Find
(a) the magnitude of its acceleration and
m/s2
(b) the time it takes the boat to travel this distance.
s
You are given:
v final = 40 m/s
v initial = 15 m/s
distance = 250 m
So you can use the formula: (v final)^2 - (v initial)^2 = 2*a*(distance)
(40 m/s)^2 - (15 m/s)^2 = 2*a*(250 m)
1375 m^2/s^2 = 2*a*(250 m)
a = (1375 m^2/s^2)/(2*250 m)
a = 2.75 m/s^2
To find the time, use the formula: v final = a*t v initial
Solve for t: t = (v final - v initial)/a
t = (40 m/s - 15 m/s)/2.75 m/s^2
t = 9.09 s
^2 = "squared"
* = "times" or "multiplied by"
15/a 40/a=250/b
since 15mph to 40mph is the acc. rate, and a is acc time, time from 15-40 is equal to distance over time , in this case 250 is distance, so b is the time so 250 over b =a
I'm an english learner, i often hear people say "something…wise"
for example, temperature wise, for university wise
what does it mean? what's the meaning of "wise" here?
thank you
With regards to, or about
Temperature wise, I am comfortable.
University wise, I am done.
Politics wise, I am tired and jaded
Temperature wise = "In terms of" the temperature. "As it applies to" the temperature.
University wise = "In terms of" the university. "As it applies to" the univ.
Language wise = "In terms of" language. "As it applies" to language.
Best answer! = As it applies to your friend who answered this!!!
I do not know why they say it. But what they mean is with that certain thing only. For example if you ask how the weather is today. If I said temperature wise, it is nice. Which would mean that the Temperature is nice, but maybe something else is not nice like its foggy or rainy. I hope that did not confuse you more.
It's a suffix and it means to do something with consideration to an existing way.
Eg, lengthwise means concentrating on length; timewise means from a time perspective.
-wise
Method or manner of doing; way: in no wise; in any wise.
It means related to. Temperature wise would mean related to the temp. If someone said "That wasn't the nicest day today, temperature wise." They are meaning the day was not good is you look at what the temperature was.
like in that category…ex.. "im hot… tempeture wise not like im cute hot."
Where do you draw the line with art work , from freedom of speech , to sexual harassment ? Can I draw a vagina, leave it out in an open space, on my desk. Or would that be considered sexual harassment ?
Could you receive marks on your record for nude female art work?
lol maybe in stupid high school you can. in high school they can almost do anything they want. you dont really have rights. not even the Constitutional ones.
psssh. in college? are u kidding. no one gives a rats *** if u draw a vagina. you'll just make yourself look like an idiot though.
oh my bad. i thought you were just doodling it like a little kid would. nah, if you're trying to make art out of it, i think that's badass.
As to your first question, if it happened once, accidentally, in an art studio, it would probably not be a problem. If you were deliberately leaving it in a position to be seen by others, or it if happened repeatedly, you could be seen as harassing (especially if it were only that drawing which got left out, rather than a whole group of pictures, one of which was a vagina).
On the question of marks on your record, it depends on the assignment. Remember that in school you are usually not free to just draw randomly, but are given specific assignments. If you are told to draw a still life, and you draw a female nude, or if you have a male model to draw from and you end up drawing a vagina, they would worry about your mental health and you could get some kind of write-up in your record (not to mention bad grades). There is also a huge difference between artistic nudes and porn. If every painting looks like a crotch shot from a pornographic magazine, you won't get very far!
Depends on if the woman considers it sexual harassment. You could get a lawyer to argue that it was just a drawing, whatever, but if you were to draw the chick and you doing something to her that she doesn't consent to, you're going to get slapped with sexual harassment and whether or not you do get that lawyer, your school isn't going to wait around–you'll be kicked out.
Is it because you wanna draw that vagina and show it to that woman who gets offended by any kind of nudity? Well yes, it is sexual harrassment. You can get kicked out of college probably.
m<AEB m<BEC=m<CED m<BEC
what property is that?
is it angle addition postulate?
I tan't be; angle addition postulate is two angle measures that add up to one big angle. It's probably addition property of equality because in a previous step,
M<AEB was shown to equal m<CED. JUst guessing though without seeing the given or previous steps.
I am terrible at math-but my girls use tutor.com and are always happy with the help they get. (No yelling from the parents!) It is available 24/7 and you actually get a live person. The first 20 minutes are free.
it's substitution property (if you already knew that m<AEB=m<CED)
I'm a senior in high school and applying to colleges, but I still don't know what I want to major in or do after school. I'm interested in politics, government, current events, and history. I love kids and babies. I love to talk and debate with people and I'm very opinionated. I like to read. I love nature; hiking, camping, and such. I like music, art, and learning new things. I like animals. I love school. I think that's about it. Any ideas for careers I might enjoy? Thanks!
Social advocate or social worker for children; political scientist/pundit; lawyer; family/child welfare lawyer; child psychologist; teacher; environmental scientist; owning and designing a camp for children or therapeutic/special needs children; special education and special education development; speech pathologist; music teacher; art teacher; therapeutic animal trainer; developing programs for children to become more aware of current events, government, etc; developing environmental curricula for children… and the list goes on.
From someone that has studied at three different colleges, my best advice would be to take as many (widely) different courses during your Gen Ed as possible. Don't worry about selecting a major until the beginning of your Junior year. Use the first two years to explore! Have fun! The first two years of college are for finding yourself!
Your very well rounded, this is good. Don't worry about picking a major yet. Take a wide variety of gen-eds and see what you like. Also, try volunteering at different places. You won't know what you will want to do unless you see and do it. Try volunteering at animal shelters, nursing homes, hospitals, day cares, etc. I knew I wanted to be a doctor the day I shadowed one.

Values: Can't live with them. Can't live without them!
What do you value about values?
Getting started is always the hard part.
I always hate to use Wikipedia, but it can give some good ideas.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Values
The idea that there are personal values and cultural values is good. What may be a value for one, may be a crime to another. People within the same culture might not hold the same values and sometimes punishment is harsh.
Is it easy to have and keep values?
The differences and similarities between virtues and values?
Our polititians hold differing values, which is the driving force of the parties.
It's difficult to pin down the type of paper you need. Hope this helps.
Are there universal values? For instance, is killing wrong in every culture? Is there a form of marriage in every known culture? How about the value of protecting your children? Are there certain physical traits that every culture values (like men with muscles, and women with big breasts or hips)?
Values. What are yours???
These are my values get your own.
I see people on here calling other people trolls.
Does it mean like the trolls under the bridge, or something else?
In general an "internet troll" is a person using an online forum or newsgroup (or answers.yahoo.com) with the purpose of angering or offending people.
It is akin to walking into a sports bar, finding a table full of Bears fans, telling them the Bears suck and smashing a beer bottle over their head.
If you would like some examples of trolling, check out some of my answers to other questions. I get easily bored.
troll:–(n) in Germanic and Scandinavian folklore, an ugly dwarf or giant
that lives in caves or hills.
The other meanings not relevant to your question are as follows.
troll:–(v) 1/to try to catch fish with a hook and line drawn through the
water behind a moving boat.
2/ (chiefly Brit) to stroll,saunter,or wader from place to place.
troll:–(n) 1/ the action of trolling.
2/ the bait or line used in trolling
troller:–(n)
People who make up bizarre questions to lure you into an excited response. They're "trolling" as a fisherman might troll for fish.
Bob is right but "trolling" can also mean when someone puts an answer that they know will piss someone off.
i think that your kind of creeping around. I know in chat rooms it is people creeping about trying to hook up.
